Monaco Fine Arts

Originally founded in 1976 by British curator and Formula One racing driver Michael McKee, this leading contemporary art gallery underwent a significant transformation in 2013. Under the leadership of owner Evelina Giannoulidi, it evolved into a bespoke modern art space with a strong emphasis on conceptual art.

Beyond exhibiting a carefully curated selection of artists who shape the contemporary scene, the gallery actively promotes conceptual art through a range of international projects.

Evelina Giannoulidi

Evelina Giannoulidi grew up in a bilingual household, with a Russian mother and a Greek father. Her early exposure to the art world came through her father's co-ownership of an art gallery, an experience that likely shaped her passion for art. This influence led her to pursue studies at the prestigious Central Saint Martins Art School, part of the University of London.

After graduating, Evelina refined her skills by curating events and exhibitions in London’s dynamic art scene. During this time, she met Mike McKee, a well-established gallerist in Monaco. Recognizing the potential of their shared vision and expertise, she partnered with McKee to launch Monaco Fine Arts, a new gallery dedicated to fostering artistic excellence.

Since its founding in 1976 by Michael McKee, Monaco Fine Arts has been at the heart of the Principality’s dynamic art scene. Quickly establishing itself as a cornerstone of Monte-Carlo’s cultural landscape, the gallery curated an exceptional collection of original paintings, watercolors, and sculptures, specializing in 19th- and 20th-century Impressionist art.

McKee’s background as a racing driver subtly shaped the gallery’s selection, infusing it with works that captured the glamour and energy of Monaco’s golden era in the 1950s and ’60s. This distinctive vision drew the attention of renowned figures, including Frank Sinatra, who became both a close friend and a devoted patron for decades.

Located within the prestigious Sporting d'Hiver, Monaco Fine Arts became a sanctuary for Impressionist art collectors. It consistently featured a selection of smaller Renoir works while also showcasing the most promising emerging artists.

Visitors were always welcomed with Michael McKee’s personal attention, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that became a hallmark of the gallery. Thanks to this dedication, Monaco Fine Arts built an impeccable reputation—one that continues to flourish today.
